MR. MINHAS TEJANI JOINS NAIROBI JAFFERY ACADEMY (NJA) AS THE NEW SCHOOL PRINCIPAL.

"Heart to Heart" Message from Mr. Tejani

Dear Jaffery Family,

This is my first official communication as the Principal with the fraternity of Nai- robi Jaffery Academy (NJA). It is indeed an honour to be part of the NJA Family. I have taken the liberty of continuing with almost the same title as it was in Jaffery Academy Mombasa. The core reason i
that whatever I will share will be “Heart to Heart”.

I am proud to share that My passion is my profession”. I have always been en- thusiastic about teaching and learning and the reason for choosing a career in education also came as the result of career guidance provided by Aga Khan Ed- ucation Service -Pakistan, when I was very young and completing my Interme- diate education.

I landed in Nairobi on Sunday 21st August, 2016 and am truly enjoying the weather. Everyone here is so loving and caring. Asante Sana for making me feel comfortable. Before coming here I had a three week vacation back home in Karachi which I thoroughly enjoyed; and the best part was the family reunion. The icing on the cake was my sons arrival from Toronto; it was a sweet sur- prise! At 49, I still feel so comfortable sleeping on my moms laps who has al- ways been very supportive. She is indeed my pillar of strength.

Joining Nairobi Jaffery Academy (NJA) has been a blessing for me as I will be working with a group of very committed and dedicated team of professionals. The Nairobi Jaffery Education Board (NJEB) is passionate about bringing in positive changes to the school and I am equally excited to be part of this journey of educa- tional change. I pledge to be a frontline player and a core agent in this entire process and look forward to the Parents to assist me achieve this goal. Without your feed- back and input; the process may take longer to take off.

My vision as a leader has always been to provide a strong base for further improve- ment at institutional level and I strongly believe in the words of Michael Fullan Change is a process not an event”. As a Leader I believe in the 3Ps i.e. Purpose, Pro- gress and Perseverance and these will be the guiding principles in implementing and sustaining the change initiatives in our school.

The first week at NJA was hectic yet fulfilling; getting to know some of you and receiving feedback from the various stakeholders. We are diligently working on the Vision, Mission and Core Values of the school. My vision is to take NJA to the level of excellence where it becomes a school of choice, imparting quality holistic education within the guided framework of Islamic Ethos and Values. As we look forward to the forthcoming Parents/Guardians’ forums, I would really appreciate your input on the same.

As an institution we have a consensus on the CHILD as the core of all activities. The faculty has already started working on the Student Centered Learning approach and we have witnessed some interesting lessons. All in all, we need to work diligently in this area and keep improving. During the course of the month we will also start working on a Strategic Plan; the NJA 2020” for the next four years, In- sha’Allah. This plan will set the tone as well as provide the direction for our future endeavors.

I truly believe in parental involvement and feedback, and I would like to conclude with the  following words of Jane D Hull

’At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a childs success is the positive involvement of parents Jane D Hull.

Looking forward to your continued support and guidance. For any feedback kindly email me at mtejani@jaffery.ac.ke.
